Our Innovative Medical Assistant Distance Education Program About our Distance Education Program: Our distance education program is designed for students interested in starting a career as a Medical Assistant, Office Manager, Medical Receptionist or for those already in the medical field interested in a comprehensive review. Our distance education program is designed to prepare the student to begin a rewarding entry level position in a physician's office, chiropractor's office, clinic or other health care setting. Online Registration is quick and simple, you can register today and begin your classes within a few days. Students can also pay tuition fees with our simple and secure Monthly Payment Program or convenient Weekly Payment Programs. Our Medical Assistant program focuses on three major aspects of Medical Assisting: General Knowledge, Administrative Skills and Clinical Knowlege. Section I: General Medical Knowledge In this section of our distance education program the student will be introduced to basic medical terminology and knowledge. Classes include: Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Basic Medical Law, Patient Communication and Professional Skills. Section II: Administrative Medical Skills The Administrative Section of our program deals with basic office management tasks. These classes are: General Office Equipment, Medical Records, Scheduling Appointments, Medical and Insurance Company Billing Procedures. Section III: Basic Clinical Knowledge Our clinical knowledge section will introduce the student to areas such as: Infection Control, Instrument Sterilization, Surgical Instruments, Clinical Equipment, Medical Emergency Procedures, EKG Testing, Lab Tests and the Physical Examination of a Patient. While we provide our students with a basic introduction to the clinical aspects of the medical field. Students may wish to pursue additional "hands on" clinical training after completion of our program. Many employeers train assistants for minor clinical tasks or may require their employes to learn additional clinical skills, this is often done on the job, at a local college or at a seminar workshop. Clinical tasks for medical office assistants vary greatly depending on the nature of your employment and federal or state laws.
