Brief Discription of Course:
This compressive program is for beginning and intermediate level students interested in becoming Medical Assistants. St. Augustine's distance education program is designed to prepare the graduate for a rewarding position in a physician's office, hospital, clinic or other health care setting. This program and its final exam focus on the three major aspects of the Medical Assistant profession: General Knowledge, Administrative Skills and Clinical Skills.
Course Prerequisites: We have an open admission policy so, there are no formal educational or experience requirements to take this class, however students should have a high school or GED diploma. All students must have access to the internet and computer skills sufficient enough for a distance education program. Students must have an ethical commitment and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Required Text: "Prentice Hall Health Outline Health Review for the Medical Assistant" (2nd edition), by Marsha Perkins Hemby.
